Only Certain MP3s Are Working!?!

MattDub

When I load mp3s into the "My MP3s" folder on my card, some will play and some won't. I shortened the file names so that's not the issue. It's weird because whole albums won't work. I'll drag the Coheed and Cambria album over, it works perfectly...a Rancid album, no go. What's going on? Is it a file problem?

Yes. Try googling for a mp3 converter. Use that on all your songs and see if they don't work afterwords. If they don't, post it here because you have a unique problem. However, I bet they will.

InsuranceMan...thank you, you're awesome. That was exactly what the problem was. I never would've guessed that an mp3 wasn't really an mp3

I am having the same problem. What converter software are you using? I don't know what I'm converting from to MP3 when the file has an MP3 extension to begin with. Thanks!!!

Here is a suggestion (not sure if it's what's happening in your situation or not, but was in mine)....I had saved a bunch of MP3's in a folder on my desktop. I then drug the entire folder over to my SD CARD, where all songs showed up, put the SD CARD back into the phone, and nothing! I then opened the folder on the desktop and drug each song individually onto the SD CARD, and voila, it worked. ??????

Mary,
Thanks for the response. Here's my situation. I took a particular album of 12 mp3's and moved each song to my card. Each song moved to the card OK. Moved the card from the reader/writer to the phone. Only four songs appeared in the "my_mp3s" screen of the phone. I can not figure what is different between the four that are OK and the eight that are not. Had the same problem with some qcp files before the update. The problem is my files, not the phone, but I don't know the answer.
