Try googling for a mp3 converter. There is another post dealing with this, and the user "re-converted" his mp3's to mp3's, and then had no more problems. Apparently they can be labeled mp3's, but not really be fully converted, if that makes sense.

Sorry, I can't answer that. I am not an Ipod/Itunes user.

I had all my songs in a folder on my desktop and drug them over to my MP3 folder, and the phone said no songs in MP3 folder, so I opened the folder and drug one song at a time and then it worked. How are you putting them in your folder? You may be having the same problem.

Can you copy the file and keep 2 versions on your hard drive? One copy for phone MP3's and one copy for iPod MP3's.

I use itunes also. In your library right click on the song you want to convert to an mp3. It will create a copy provided it is not a song you purchased from the store as those are protected. Once you find the copy drag it to the desktop. Open your image of the memory card that should also be sitting on the desktop and drag it into the folder that says my mp3's. When you finish place the card back in the phone. Hold the front play button down for a second and it should go..............!
No need to change extensions. Itunes has done it for you. You may however have to go into the preferences for itunes and change it temporarily to import as mp3's 😁
