No EV-DO, No *228 after update today??
I had the update done today. I didn't notice until I got home, but now I don't get the EV signal indicator. I can't get VCast. Also, I can't dial *228. When they did my update, it took no more than 30 minutes. I did not lose any data - pics, ringtones, etc. I did check and my phone now says version 4 in the software, and the My MP3 folder is there. I have been meaning to order a mini SD card, but keep forgetting, so have not yet tried the mp3 player. I'm really annoyed about not having EV capability though. I got the update late in the day, so couldn't go back to the store after I discovered the problems. I'm going back tomorrow, and hope the tech will be there. Anyone have ideas of things to try, or am I stuck until tomorrow??

I finally got through to customer service at 611 this morning - held for nearly 40 minutes last night, and no help.
The tech who helped me this morning, was friendly, but not knowledgeable about 8100 problems. She tried a number of things but could not get my EV-DO to work, nor my ability to dial *228.
I went to my local store when they opened at noon today. The tech who flashed my phone yesterday was not there, but fortunately a rep who had experienced the same problem with his phone was, and fixed mine. He said that when the update was flashed, the "tower list" was left off, and that's why the phone was not getting EV-DO signals and I could not dial *228. He put my phone back on the machine, and was finished in about 2 minutes. ...
