Battery since update

Mary424

Before the update, my battery would usually be down to 1 or 2 bars by the end of the day, which didn't matter to me because I charge it everynight regardless. I even tried out the theory of using the SD CARD drains it faster, and in fact, it seemed to.
Anyway, since the update, my battery seems to be lasting much longer! I took it off the charger about 8:00 a.m. (SD CARD in), have talked a lot (I'm am a women, afterall) today, watched Family Guy, Seinfeld, and even played some MP3's and a little bit of Jamdat Bowling 3D and it is now 6:00 p.m. and I still have 3 bars!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelieveable! I didn't realize the update dealt with the battery too, but evidentally either it did or I just got lucky.

It's awesome! I originally got hooked on the original Jamdat bowling on an old phone and when I had gotten another, the only thing available was Jamdat bowling 2, which I didn't like as well, but Jamdat bowling 3D is by far the best. A lot of fun! You can get very addicted to it!

I may have to take you up on that. I have Madden 2006 (disappointment), Pacman (disappoint also), and Tetris (love it). Thanks

When you download those games, does it take up your minutes when your playing them? 🙄

Some do, some don't. Tetris and Jamdat bowling 3D, don't for sure, all others, you can go to info before downloading them and it will tell you if airtime is required for use. It does take airtime to download them, though, so if you want to avoid that, download them after 9p.m. or on weekends (if you have free nights and weekends, which I think most Verizon plans do now).

No, I have Jamdat bowling 3D, which is under VCAST games (you don't have to have VCAST in your area to get it, either, I don't), and there is no airtime required. On Jamdat bowling 2, the "airtime required" is not while your actual playing, but if you want to upload your scores, etc. then that takes airtime.

Yes, I know, and I have mobile web for $5, which I don't use much, but when I do, it usually isn't until after 9p.m., which doesn't charge airtime. Also, the games I play don't use airtime, so for $15/mo. I see absolutely no need for it until VCAST is in my area and I decide if I will even use that much.

I have the VCAST package and the service in my area so I am on the web and browsing games free of charge. Mary if you have the $5 mobile web package doesnt that allow you not to be charged airtime while downloading a game or playing an airtime required game?

I believe it charges airtime, except for nights and weekends, of course. I could be wrong, though. Maybe I should check into that further. If I could be using it free of airtime all the time, I would definately use it more during the day!

Just got off the phone w/ Verizon. The $5 mobile web is unlimited web usage, but DOES charge airtime when using except for nights and weekends. I thought this to be true, but when you said it may not, I thought I would check it out to be sure, since I have limited my use more to nights/weekends. I thought, if it was indeed airtime free, I would definately use it a lot more!

You know, Mary, I, too, have noticed an improvement in my battery performance. Before the update, I was charging about every 2/3 days. Now--4/5.
Hmmm. Interesting. Is it just us, I wonder?
Great question for a post 🙂

I think mine has definately approved since the updated...now granted I use my phone A LOT...i usually have to re-chard 2-3 times during the day. Now I have only been having to recharge it once during the day. I havent been working the last couple days...so my talk time goes down when I am not working...but it definately looks like it has improved.
