Anyway other than a hack to get your own MP3 ringtones on phone?

I'm not into the whole hack thing, don't want to screw up my phone, and I'm sure the answer to my question then is no, but just curious.....Is there anyway to put your own MP3 ringtones on this thing without a cable and a hack? I know this whole ringtone, bitpim, etc. etc. etc. topic has been talked into the ground, but just wondered if anyone came up with or knew of anything regarding this matter (without hack, that is) that hasn't been brought up yet.

i was told it was easy to hack into the phone with a data interface cable....just like moving files from one directory into another...however, i haven't done it and it was just explained to me...i still can't figure out how the phone plays MP3's...the guy at verizon told me it only play's MIDI files which sucks...if anyone knows how to get this phone to play Mp3's, i would appreciate it..thanks.

I have never asked how to do this and have loaded over 50 ringtones. Didn't once have a problem since I took the time to read the FAQ's and guides.

Mary,

Bitpim 7.35 works great with a cable just don't go into the file system menu this is where you can get into the phones programming. When you connect bitpim you will be able to read all your contacts, pictures, and ring tones that are not factory. In the ring tone section all you do is select add and it will walk you through the rest of the way. This software is very user friendly. It is not setup as hacking software.

Not all cable connections to phones are hacks.

To make this simple and easy. Bitpim 7.35 will make ringtones for you from your existing mp3s (I have done it). You can either connect to your cell phone via a usb cable (cheap on ebay) or via bluetooth (the way I connect)

Download bitpim 7.35 and click on the ringtone tab. From there you should be able to createyour own by picking a song and then narrowing down the section you want to work.

You say you use Bitpim 7.35 and connect to your phone via bluetooth. I found instructions on HOFO on how to do this, but can't quite figure out just how to connect my phone to my pc via bluetooth, can you help?
