10 ringtones?
Does anyone else here have 10 LEGALLY downloaded GIN ringtones on their software version 4 enabled 8100? I ask because my phone is STILL having that static ringtone problem. When I put the mp3's in the player and listen to a song my phone will periodically reduce all my GIN ringtones to STATIC. Even the VZW default tones diaappear except for Rintones 1-4 and Low Beep Once, Low Beeps, Loud Beep Once and Loud Beeps. Ready for the really strange part? When I press Ringtones 5-10 the EQ from the MP3 player becomes super imposed onto the ringer menu screen. I have switched cards, ran Nortons, McCafee, and EZ Armor antiviral programs on pc. I have swirched out the phone 4 times in 2 wks. I even downloaded ALL NEW ringtones. I am at my wits end VZW...

but re encode your mp3's to like 128 kb or something
maybe a too high of an encoding is causing an error in the audio decoder of the phone
anyways maybe somebody can work off this

Some are 128 and some are higher. I will explore that option. I am willing to try almost anything. May have to wait foe the Samsumsung 970 or go kicking and screaming to Moto. Thanks.

wwhizzard -- I have 14 ringtones on my phone, all downloaded from the VZW offerings, and I have no problems with any of them.
