Has anyone tried an FM transmitter / Modulator?

Just wondering if ayone has had any success plugging in an FM transmitter/modulator, or know any concrete reasons why it would or would not work.
I miss having an MP3 cd player in my car, but my new car has a navigation system Im not willing to part with, and I doubt I'll be keeping the car long enough to make it worthwhile investing in an MP3 cd changer, so being able to stick a modulator in my phones headset jack seems like a simple solution if it would work.
THANKS 🙂

The only problem that I see is the fact that the headset jack for the phone is 2.5mm and a standard plug for an FM transmitter is 3.5mm, find a converter and you're golden.

Yes and NO

first you have to get an adapter that changes the phone phone jack to the standard plus size. DO NOT GET THE ONE FROM RADIO SHACK... it doesn't fit in securely and always falls out and is just crap.. that being said .. I haven't looked for a better one yet...

next the actual fm transmitter. I have a tunecast 2... i think its a lil grey. If you have it plugged into the cigarette lighter its not bad it can get pretty loud ~ however if you try to use it with the batteries and not the cigarette lighter to power it then the sound is so low that it doesn't do any good.

if I had a different jack that wouldnt fall out and cause REALLY annoying static .. and if i could charge my phone in the cigarette lighter and not have to have ...

I have, so I can save you the trouble.

I had a much better one for my V710 made for the MPX200 that I ordered from pc-mobile.com. It doesn't work with the LG, but I think it's because it has three black contact rings on the plug, while the RS one has two. You're somewhat right about the RS one it does suck and it pulls out, but if you're careful it does work.
Still, thanks to your input, I'm going to go ahead and order one of the ones with two black rings. I'm ordering the one for the Samsung i730.

Here's the link to the site:

I'll publish the results . . . unless you can get one quicker from...
