I got the 8000...

I've posted before that I've had trouble with 2 8100's.

Instead of going for an 815 or trying yet another 8100, I decided to go with the LG8000 since I don't care about BT.

All I can say is this phone has a WOW screen.. it's beautiful!! Inside and out!!

Sound is very good.. not perfect, but better than 8100.

And the build quality is as good or better than the 8100.

The camera is way better than the ones on the 8100's that I had.

Obviously, the down side is the large size. But I think I can live with it.. and as compensation for carrying around this big phone, I get a large, absolutely beautiful screen! I love it! It's awesome!

Unless there are some new developments with the 8100 or the 970 in the next 15 days, the 80...

Yes the screen is GREAT...and the cam is spectacular. The size is most definitely a drawback. I also loves the fact that I could make any sound become a ringtone oor alarm or text alert. Good luck.

Am I the only VZ customer to be 100% staisfied from the get-go with my 8100? I have had 0 of the issues described in the forums, and now that my mp3 player is unlocked, I've got the greatest phone ever built! I think the problem you might have had with the swap was a bad refurb, unless you were swapped for a new one. If it was indeed a brand new swap, maybe there was a bad ship. That's good that you're happy with the 8k, though, because as you stated, it's a PHONE. All the extras are nice, but the real test is if it makes a \nd receives calls for you. That's what's most important. 😁

I too have the 8100 and just freakin' love it. Unlocked and ready for anything, I can use this phone to do anything that a cell phone can do these days short of travelling through time like the new Samsung Japanese-based phone coming out in 3Q 2006. Yes, you heard right, travelling through time. Think i'm full of ****...do what you gotta do, it's da truf. Booyakasha!

Here's the PhoneScoop comparison between the 8000 and the 8100...

You'll notice that there's not too much difference in size, and the 8000 actually weighs LESS than the 8100.

Of course, with the 8000 you give up BT & Mp3, but you get an AWESOME screen with larger and more comfortable key layout for easy text messaging!!

Are you trying to convince us that the 8000 is better or yourself? 😈

Just a good alternative to the many problems the 8100 has had. Not trying to convince anyone!!

I have the 8100 and absolutely love it. I'm actually on my second one, as the first one's camera wouldn't start up all the time. But again, this one has been perfect and I stand by my review that this is about as good as a phone can get...

I'm glad you went with the 8000 NY8100, because that phone is absolutely amazing as well. I actually was going to go with that phone, but decided to give the 8100 another go.

Again, good choice with the 8000. Hope it goes well for you. I have no doubt that it will. 😉
