If you havent noticed, there is a (optional) Silicone cap you can get that goes over the earpiece, this makes it so the scala will actually go inside your ear. This silicone addition is FREE, just goto the above website and fill it out, they will mail you one.

I wondered about that! I saw that in my manual and wondered where it was. I have since gotten rid of it, though, because it was HORRIBLE. I never was even able to make a call with it because it was total static and words cut-out so bad I could barely hear the voice say "say a command". Others have praised it, so it must work for some. This info, though, it great for those who still have it. Good post.

I feel your pain Mary, im in the same boat, i just got mine from Amazon.com and it basically sucks but im gonna push to see if Cardo will do anything for me or know of a fix. in the mean time the cap makes a world of difference for the loudness of this earpiece. If i can get the windnoise effect gone when im just standing, i would be happy with this earpiece. Atm im working on getting a h500 headset hopefully really cheap.

You would be extremely happy with the H500, I can almost guarentee it. I love mine. Best I've tried yet. I got mine for around $54 w/ shipping on ebay from a very reputable seller. It was brand new in the package. He has more available, and if your interested you can find them at:

Cool i bought the scala500 after reading all the reviews but what you went through is the same thing and more im going through. So i am taking your word on the h500 😁

Seeing as i hijacked my own thread, i have another question, can you give me some more detail on the h500? How is the fit compare to the scala500? I liked the scala, i didnt feel it on my ear.

As far as fit, I personally think the H500 is more comfortable than the Scala. It is a little smaller too. The H500 definately feels more solid and well built too. I thought the Scala felt kinda cheap. The earhook on the H500 is also softer/smoother than the Scala. The pic of the H500 doesn't do it justice. It looks even better in person. Very sleek.
