eBay Data Cables--Anyone Tried Them?

I think I have read on here that many of you have purchased the data cable for the 8100 on eBay--for a much lower price than lg offers it ($39.99!). And I think/hope I am ready to try using one to upload my own ringtones, etc. So--my question is, those of you who have tried the eBay cables--(1) do they work with the 8100 and (2) from which seller do you recommend buying?

I got one from (itrimming) a seller on ebay for $9.00 works great, I haven't had any problems whatsoever using it. I have been using the datacable to mangage my phone through Bitpim and Datapilot programs.
