update affect vcast/ evdo?
I went and got the update and now the evdo icon is gone and i cant connect to vcast any ideas?

Yes. I had the same problem. It's one of two things. First, try dialing *228 from your phone. Hit option 2 to update your PRL. If you can dial *228, that should fix the problem - you might actually have to hit 1, if option 2 doesn't do the trick.
If you cannot dial *228 at all, meaning when you hit send, nothing happens, then you need to return to the store because the tech didn't finish programming your phone update. Good luck.
