Dial Up Netweorking

Just a simple question about this phone. Has anyone been using it successfully for dial up networking with the various software upgrades? I don't care about Vcast. I just want to be able to use it to call Dial Up ISP's from my Laptop when I am traveling, the same as I do now with my LG 6000. I have done searches of these threads and find all kinds of mixed questions and answers regarding this. I assume that I need a data cable that I can easilly purchase to connect to my Laptop, but has anyone been able to then use the phone for their dial up connections to services such as Earthlink? Of course Verizon sasy No. Verizon says no to anything we actually need it seems, unless we want multiple accounts.
Thanks for any help.

Datapilot is what you are looking for it has an internet data connectivity feature that will allow you to use DUN even if you have gotten the version 4 update. It consistently connects at about 115K for me not super fast but beats the heck out of 56K and no connection at all.

Thanks. That seems to be the hot tip. I was holding off getting the 8100 until I was pretty certain of an easy way to get DUN to work with it.
