Transferring Data Question

RENCO

Hi

I'm new to these kind of phones and am trying to understand how data transfer works.

If I use a minisd card to transfer data do I need to install a software on my computer to do this?

How about if I use a USB cable, do I need a special syncing software or any other software?

Thanks.

With a miniSD card to put pics, MP3's or videos on, all you need is a card reader to bring up the files, but you don't need any software to do this. Just format the card in your phone, put it in the reader and your folders will pop up.

Thanks Mary. So my computer won't have any problems reading the phones picture and video file formats, I don't need a conversion software?

I'm assuming that the phone doesn't store pics and videos in jpg and mpg right?

The 8100 captures pics in 1280x960, 640x480, 320x240, 176x144 or 160x120 .jpg format and captures video in 176x144 .3g2 (3gpp) format. 😕
