Anyone Bought 8100 Recently & Not Had Fluctuation Problem?

I am trying to decide between the 8100 and the a-950 and am wondering if the volume fluctuation problem has been solved with firmware updates.

Also, is there a plastic holster for the 8100 that holds the phone when it is opoen? One issue is that I keep my current phone clipped to my car visor and I would like to be able to use the speakerphone while it is clipped there. A-950 speakerphone works with flip closed.

Other questions (while I'm here!):

Is the miniSD card bigger than the transflash card used in the a-950?

Can you make playlists of mp3s?

Thanks

I've had mine since mid-September. Version 4 was on mine when I got it, no volume issues for me.

Not sure if there is a holster to do what you need. The swivel clip on the back of my case allows me to clip to my visor.

I haven't used the MP3 functions yet, I just broke down ad ordered the stuff off ebay. Surely one of the other posters will chime in...

Will your holster keep the phone secure if it is open and clipped to the visor?

~I have never had the volume problem and my Sister got this phone about a week ago and hasn't had any problems either.

~There is a plastic holster available from
Verizon that does allow you to open the phone while it is in it.

~The MiniSD card is quite a bit bigger than the TF card.

~No, you cannot make playlists (on the 8100 or the 950).

I've had 2 8100s and my roomate has one and I never noticed the volume problem....until I used another persons phone and realized how pathetic the 8100 is. When I drive with the windows up and stereo off, I still have trouble hearing due to the road noise. Really sucks. Also, the speaker phone doesn't work if the phone is closed, only open. That, too, is stupid.

I've had mine replaced several times. This last one about 3 weeks ago (brand new). Only problem is camera delay. Volume fine - no problem even in bad signal areas. The first one I bought in July was perfect till I updated to v04 and that's when I started having problems. Echo, BT and volume. Don't know who sucks more, VZW who orders the software or LG who writes it.
