LG VX-8100
lg 8100 vs moto razr
im looking to upgrade from a lg 6000 to either the 8100 or the razr. i love lg and have had alot of their phones over the yrs. but i like how small the moto is. but i also know that moto hasnt been great in the last couple yrs. which is better?? help!!!

I have the 8100 and LOVE it, but briefly considered the RAZR but decided against it for a lot of reasons. Overall, though, the 8100 has a lot more features and is a more solid, great over-all phone.

The 8100 has alot more features but if you want to make good calls and experience good calls, get a phone that works well in all communications categories. You want music, get an IPOD, want movies, get a vcr. The 8100 has the potenital to be a great phone. LG has got to fix the bugs on it. They need to focus on the communications part of the phone first, then the toys.

I have 0 bugs or communication issues. The 8100 feels better in your hand, has better battery, has more features, has a better camera, expandable memory, mp3 player, music on demand service launching soon. I would suggest you get the 8100, if you are one of the few unfortunate souls that gets one with volume bugs and crap like that then return it and try the razor. I personally think the 8100 is the best phone i have ever used and i am one of those phone nuts that gets new phones all the time so i have had a bunch.

I to was thinking about the Razr as well but got the 8100. I am having some issues with volume control at times. There is somewhat of a fix here . I don't think LG is going to fix it even though they say they might. Most likely just come out with a 8200. LOL
It's really not that bad of an issue for what this phone does. There is no perfect phone and just maybe we shouldn't have SUCH HIGH EXPECTIONS.. Remember this tech is still new .. MP3, PHONE, VOICE DIAILING , BLUETOOTH,
VIDEO, CAMERA, ALARM.. Remember the more opitions on the phone more issues you might have but this phone overall is a pretty good phone. I have had it for a month.

I was considering the Razr as well but went with the 8100. For a lot of reasons.
Talk to anyone that works for Verizon. More phones and motorola products come back for returns then any other manufacture. That in itsself should tell you 8100 is the best choice not to mention the rest MP3. and lots of other great things . Have had the 8100 upgraded from the 6000. Very happy .

I personally am not crazy about the Razr. Sure it is skinny, but I think it is still wide and longer that I'd like. Plus all the pockets that I have in my purses (which is normally where I keep my phone, not in my pants pocket) fit my 8100 much better.
What exactly is so special about the Razr? I know it has bluetooth, but does it have mp3 player like the 8100? Plus I think the Razr is just so trendy right now, and it seems like everybody and their grandma has it.

I would place moto service return rate around 40% at my location over the past year or two. The newer models seem to be a little better but I will say the v60s, 720-730, and the 265 were the worste phones ever made. I beleive the 265 had a return rate of over 100%. How does that happen you say? Well the replacements all stopped working a few down the road as well so we had multiple customers on their 2nd or third 265. Not sure about the 276, I refuse to sell them unless soemone demands that exact phone. The higher end models like the 710 and the 815 are better, but they stll had that gheto charging port so still had a huge return rate on faulty ports. They changed the ports on the razor but I am hesitant to push any moto product when it firs...

Agreed, v60 & 265 = poop
815 still has the charging port issue but the mic and speakers work.
The 276 seems to me to be a 265 that had a few tweaks. The most common issue I've seen with the 265 is the speaker and/or mic going out or having a lot of static.
Oh, and if you're talking about bad phones don't leave out the Audiovox 8910...
