battery problems
Is anyone else having problems with false battery life reporting? I charged my phone last night and it was fully charged this morning. I have the EVDO and the bluetooth turned off, and by 12:00 PM it is telling me my battery is dead and powering down. When I turn it back on it shows 2-3 bars of battery life but as soon as I actually dial a call the battery light starts blinking and then eventually it powers down again. If I turn it on again, it shows 2-3 bars until I make another call. I know this battery has a lot of life left in it, I can send txt msgs all day long, but as soon as I go to make a call it says it is out of power?
I have had the phone for 3-4 months and I charge it every night. I am not sure what the problem is, soft...

Do you have version 4 on the software on your phone(If you MP3 capability you do)?
If you do, it seems like a phone problem...Bring it to a Verizon Wireless Company store and they will give you a new phone.(transfer pics/videos to a memory card as they cannot be transferred)

You may have damaged your battery by overcharging. Always take the charger off as soon as you can after charging is complete.

I always leave my phone on the charger. It doesn't keep charging once it is done. If that were the case, people who charge it every night would have unusable phones.

yea, they come with overcharge protection now, there is no need to take it off after over charge. I still haven't charged it (its 4:00) and its showing 3 bars of life still, but as soon as I make a call, the bars start disapearing slowly and eventually the phone shuts off. This is weird. I am going to just order an extended life battery anyway.

I had heard through another thread that the phone continued to charge after the indicator said "Charging Complete". I called LG support and they said you cannot damage the battery by leaving it on the charger. I stand corrected.

do you have video wallpaper? I turned mine on recently and it seems to zap the battery faster than before. Mine will barely last the day with about 1:30 of usage each day.

I stand corrected. While LG and Verizon both tell you that the phone has overcharge protection, apparently it doesnt. When i went to Verizon the tech took out my battery and let me compare the "feel" to a new battery. My old battery was very bumpy, like things had been exbanding inside of it. The new one was perfectly flat. He informed me that while they claim to have overcharge protection, they don't and it is still the best practice to let your battery drain completely, and then charge it until it says charge complete and disconnect it.
This doesn't fit into my schedule very well, because if my phone dies half way through the day where do I charge it? Every other LG phone I have had never had a problem being plugged in, and on eve...
