New User + New Phone = I'm Needing Help Bad!!

😲 Hope someone can come to my rescue! I've been trying to read through all of the posts and trying to find what I need. I just need someone to tell me what I need to know ... Please?? 😁
How do you turn on the Voice Dialing? I've trained it. I currently have a vx6000. When you open the phone it says "Name Please". How do I place a call on this phone? Only way I can get it to work is if I go through menu's - Setting & Tools, Tools, Voice Commands, then finally to Start Command and "Call Someone". Can't you just say the name when you open up the phone to place the call? This is way to much trouble. Please help me out on this one!
I've seen a few posts about the volume in the ear - mine keeps going in and out when you are on a call. Is this a defect? Can it be fixed by a software update? Or should I swap the phone for a new vx8100? And last of all, I saw the posts about the different software updates? Do I need to get one? I noticed when I was in the store, I thought the phone came pre-loaded with about 5 - 8 MP3's. Mine has none. This MP3 loading on the card sounds difficult? The guy at Verzion told me all I needed was a card reader - drag and drop my MP3's on the card and be done. I take it from the emails it's not that easy?????
Please reply here or even better email me,,,

Wow...Let me see what I can do here. First off, Voice dialing:
open the phone, press the little button on the side of the phone that has a little microphone on it. It will say "please say a command" Then you say "call someone" (if you care calling someone in your contacts) then it will say "please say a name" then you say the name, then it will verify the name, then call it. If your calling someone not in your contacts you have to say "digit dial" and it will then ask for a number. You then clearly say the number and it will again verify it then call.
Volume:
No need to switch your phone, a software update in the neer future should correct this for those having the problem. As far as getting a software update now, if you just got th...

Thanks for the help! I was mis-informed about the preloaded MP3's. The guy at the Verizon led me to believe they were already loaded in the phone. He failed to further explain - they were loaded in the STORE PHONE as a demo of what they sound like. My bad!
I guess I can live with the ear volume problem. I just sound like the commercial - while on the phone I keep saying "Can you hear me now?"
I really don't like the voice dial on this phone. I guess I have been spoiled by the vx4400 and the vx6000 that I left to upgrade to the vx8100. I just use to flipping it open and saying the name. No buttons to push. To bad you don't have that option to set the program to come on automatically when the phone is opened. If you don't want to make a ...

i'm guessing the reason they dont make the phone automatically ask for voice dial is because, as handy as voice dial is, it is also not always easy to use, eg: you say call john, it thinks it heard call bob.... the way its made is so that you can choose how to use it, instead of having it choose for you.

Well, I think it is because with Bluetooth, most people only use the voice dialing with a BT headset, not with the handset, so that would be a pain if it came on everytime you opened the phone. Also, even if not using a headset, don't most people dial vs. voice dial anyway?

First of all v06 is not available. Second they have to update it when it becomes available. Version, OK - right 2 times - select system - device info - SW version.
