Jan 2, 2006, 11:13 PM
Hey everyone, i bought this cable from ebay. IT seems to have some connectivity from being plugged in. My phone says that it is charging. I downloaded my first version of bit pim (8.sometihng). The newest version. I have a cd from the purchase but i dont konw how to verify that the driver is installed in my computer because 1. when i right click on mycomputer and go to device manager and see what usb controllers drivers are installed, there is nothing related to my usb lg phone info. however, 2. in add/remove programs there says something about a LG USB driver.

All in all im so confused because nothing is connecting.bitpimsupport has nothing to help me

See if you can solve this. IM willing to answer questions that you have about mysys...

I had the same problem. Once I put the cd for the drivers in, it seemed like nothing whatsoever happened. I couldn't find them or the usb device. However, I let Bitpim search for my phone while it was connected and it found it immediately. I still can't find anything on my computer about my phone of the device. Just use Bitpim to find the phone.

i used the same cable i had for the 7000 when i got the 8100 over the summer and i downloaded the driver for the 8000 directly from the lg website, and it worked. i'm also still using bitpim 0.7.35 unofficial development version. i know you can go to settings browse the COM ports and it should bring up all avail ports and if there is any connected then select the one u see for yr phone. then change the settings for model to lg 8100 i dunno if this helps hopefully if not just send me an email i'll help you as much as i can
