MP3 Player won't work? Do you have v06
If you purchased your 8100 before 01/16/06 and received a field replacement unit(fru) the last week, you may have v06 and your mp3 player has been disabled. Well if you would rather not go into a vzw retail hell location heres how to get your phone to play MP3's:
First of all abandon your mp3 player because v06 only supports WMAs. Now what you need to do is get a usb cable (probably not from cellphoneshop) and use WMP 10 to sync music from your hard drive to your phone. Remember to format the sd card with the phone fist. WMP 10 should do an auto conversion to rip your MP3s into WMAs. Now you will have the option of storing your music files on the phone or on the SD card.
