So, why would Verizon allow the Razr V3 to do phone book transfers via Bluetooth and not the VX8100. This is frustrating.

It wasn't supposed to. It was released w/ OBEX enabled. The ones you get now probably arn't, just the first batch sent out.

I hear ya on that, but BMW shows the E815, V710 and the Razr V3c as having some sort of OBEX... See this link: http://www.bmwtransact.com/bluetooth/Compatib le_Phones.htm

If they are putting the Razr V3c on this list, then it is likely not going to change on future releases of the phone. This brings me back to my original question of why won't they allow it on the VX8100.

Clearly, the OBEX topic has been heavily discussed over time in this forum, but I just wanted to take one more stab at it... I upgraded my software on the VX8100 to the latest version available at my Verizon store and thank goodness I can now turn those annoying lights off of the front of the phone.

I'm frustrated too. I am trying to send files back and forth between my PDA and my 8100 only to find that I can't. 👿
I specifically asked CSR at 611 if I would be able to use my mp3s as ringtones & photos that I have taken w/a regular camera as wallpaper and was told yes on both counts.

My pda is my only other bluetooth device. I moved the files from the computer to the pda. Now I can't get them from the PDA to the phone. The PDA is recognized on the phone, and vice versa, but I can't move any files. 👿

YOu cannot do this. You can, however, put pics from your PC onto your memory card to use as wallpaper and use bitpim to put MP3 ringtones onto your phone.
