Real song ringtones???
how can i get real songs to be the ringtones? it seems that the only ringtone site to buy from on get it now is some cheap source website and i want real songs on there how do i get it!? please help me

Here's one way
1. Create the MP3 clip you want to make into a ringer
2. Establish a connection between your computer and your phone, either by bluetooth or by usb cable.
3. Using Bitpim(just Google for it) enter the filesystem of the phone and navigate the directory in this order: Brew -> 16452 -> lk -> mr.
4. Right click on mr and choose "new file." Then in the dialog box that pops up, locate the ringtone that you made, make sure to change the extension of the MP3 to .mid, and click ok. The first time you do this you will most likely get an error, just do it again and it should work.
5. After the rington has been written to the phone you need to erase the my_ringtone.dat and my_ringtonesize.dat files which can be found un...

i personally would get the data cable off ebay. got mine for 8 bucks s/h included. if you use bitpim you dont have to go in there trying to figure out how to write the brew or anything. bitpim does the conversions and everything for you!!

When you add ringtones using Bitpim, does it edit the myringtone.dat file? I'm a little worried about using it that way because I've always used Josh's 8100 program to write the .dat file and just edited the filesystem myself, which is annoying. If Bitpim does this for me that would be sick.

to be honest, i dont know a whole lot about the process. i just know that i get the 30 sec clip i want, import it, bitpim does all the conversions and whatnot, writes the brew, and it works. i dont have to do anything.

How many ring tones do you have? If the number is less than 10 do me a favor and try to put on like 10 more. I'm just wondering if Bitpim can override the memory restriction.
