Low Battery Nightmare - Battery life Issues ?
I got my 8100 about 5 days ago. I have been testing battery life and I did not like what happened today.
I have reset the timer each day to see how long the talk time is.
So far each day I get around 2:40-2:55 mins before it goes to low batt...
Today I was on a call, Low battery came up and within 6 seconds the phone powered down and I could not power it up for more than 2 seconds. Just enough time to see that it went 2:54 total.
Anyone do any testing for battery life ?
Has anyone seen it do this ?
My Sams 950 and 670 will talk for 30 mins on low batt which I like alot.
This thing just pulled my plug big time.
It is on Version 7
Thanks

have you tried putting it on 1x only instead of evdo hybrid or whatever? that helped my battery life out a bit.

when i first got my 8100 right when they came out my battery life was terrible I looked at the battery itself and saw that the part where verizon can tell if it has been wet was smudged as if were wet, so the battery was bad and they exchanged it for a new one, you might want to see if this is the case, not any settings but simply a bad battery.

i found out you can overcharge these batteries. I was showing full battery until I started using the phone for a call, and then within 2-3 minutes the battery died. If you take it out and the battery itself feels bumpy and not smooth, then your battery is bad. Take to verizon, and tell them to replace it under warranty. They claim the phone has overcharge protection, so they have to replace it for free since it is clearly overcharging. I let mine drain completely now then recharge, it works great again.

Before I go on, I have to ask you. Didn't you just get the 325? If so, your thoughts on it or mini review.
The 8100, I used to test just like you when I had it. I would always reset the timer. Your times are on par with what I used to get. Once the alert comes..it's bye bye. You put an extended battery on the 8100 and it will last you forever...I kid you not...5 to 6 days easy! I never had my extended die on me...not once.
