Software version and VZW - AGAIN
Today, after reading this forum, asking many questions and getting much help, I decided to finally invest in the stuff required for VCast Music. More importantly, I wanted WMA's on my phone; I have no mp3's on my computer.
I bought the memory card and the Music Essentials kit. Then I went to get my phone updated, came back later (talking about 2 hours) and found they hadn't updated my phone.
I alerted them that it still had V04, and they told me that was the highest version they have. They don't have V07, and there's nothing they can do.
What can I do to get the new software on my phone? I'm in New York if this helps.

wow, that is annoying, i would suggest calling a few stores and just asking

sounds like a case of the run around, call another store and go there instead.

As of 01-16-06 they all have it. Sounds like they possibly just didn't want to mess with it.

I put version 7 on myself works great. If you know how to use google its all over the net.

I spoke with a supervisor at tech support. He told me if the store says 'they don't have it', to call them from the store before leaving. Everybody has it and you're getting a run-around.

I went to another store and they successfully updated the SW version.
However, now I no longer get the EV icon. I checked the "Secret" menu to make sure it was on, and it was supposed to be. I asked the tech person there before I left, and they didn't know what it was.
Any suggestions?

I think there has been mention of this problem elsewhere. If I remember correctly it means that your phone didn't get flashed with the complete upgrade - something like the ERI portion of it. You might want to search on here, but I think I'm on the right track.
