Ok, guys. Is it advisable or not advisable to set to 1x to save battery? I don't use EVDO or even download. Somebody said you get better reception without changing it. Thoughts? Thanx. 😎

hey, i was just curious how did u set your fone to just 1x, and turn of ev-do, i have sw version 07, maybe that is the difference.

If you have EVDO service in your area then I can't see why you don't use the free mobile web service to check your available minutes, monthly billing info, etc... all free if you don't use the other web stuff. In addition, don't any of you use the *228 OTA updating? The PRL is downloaded using the highest available speed so...

95% of all OTA calls are within 35-55 seconds. If you notice a real world difference in battery life will losing a few seconds on the OTA call every month or 2 kill you?

i assume you mean outside the home area? i work outside my home area, so theres a lot of calls that arent on my home network.
