LG VX-8100

It only happened once and I really can't stand that to even happen at all. Is anyone else having this problem?

Did they discontinue the 4500?

Lightning fast, great graphics, full web pages, can even bid on ebay or buy on amazon! Pretty awesome!

Does anyone have a link where I can find another copy of the rebate form? I just bought my phone and lost the rebate form, I just want to download it online, save me a trip back to the store...thanks!

After much deliberation and much help from many people here - we have decided on getting the Verizon Family Plan with two 8100s. The 8100 and 815 are probably very close to one another (now) when you add up all of the positives and negatives; however, based on the fact that both of these phones can only get better in the long run and if the 8100 lives up to its full potential then it is probably the better phone. Plus when the Verizon store near me (which is one of the highest volume dealers around) informed me that LG phones account for 40% of their sales but only 15% of their service work (while the Motorola phones account for a much higher percentage of their service work) - I am convinced that a year or two from now the 8100 phone owner...

i have no probs with my phone besides the fact that the ear piece really dont get loud enough.....also sometimes when i take pic with the phone closed and push the button to snap the pic it sometimes says please wait and never takes the pic....

the picture messaging works fine now and when i first got it the phone shut off on me a few times but lately it is as if the phone is "de bugging" i really just wish it got louder in the ear piece

If you buy ringtones from "Get it Now" is it a one time price, or are you billed on a monthly or yearly basis?

Hello! Can anyone check a couple things?

1) When putting your phone on "No Sounds", or anything that puts the little bar across the bottom of the screen, does the bar have a slightly bluish tint?

2) After taking a picture, when it asks if you want to save or erase (where it designates a # for the pic), are there little lines where the # to the pic. is (again, where it asks if you want to save or erase the picture just taken)? I've noticed lines there, but not on any other screen.

Anyone know where I could get a replacement for the little rubber piece that covers the charging port?

Not to be a pain but I like my things to be clean and that rubber piece keeps the charging port clean.

Would it be best to contact Verizon or LG to get that little piece of rubber?

ok.. now.. when you go to the "Get It Now" folder and click on "Get Tunes and Tones" ... there is one subfolder called "My Sounds" right? This is where your recordings get saved in, but it also has some of the original tunes that used to be RINGtones on previous LGs. How the heck do you turn these into ringtones??!?!?!?! Is there a way you can save it into the ringtone folder or WHAT? Because.. if not.. then that means there is no point of having these sounds that came with the phone!! (like "Train" and "Rainforest") What is the point of having them in that folder? So you can listen to them when you are bored? How come all of a sudden these can't be ringtones like they were on the previous LGs?! It sucks too how this phone wont let you send ...

I'm a little confused by all of the posts on here...some say it will read mp3s...some say it won't...so I'm here to set the record straight.

I have been able to copy MP3 files directly to my phone using a LG VX7000 data cable and software called QPST...or you could also use BITPIM. I have had no problems with the phone reading the .mp3 extension. However, it is probably best to follow the instructions and change the extension to .qcp for best compatibility with the phone. (you do this by going to tools/folder options/then select the view tab/then make sure HIDE EXTENSIONS FOR UNKNOWN FILE TYPES IS _UNCHECKED_!!!) Then go back to your mp3 files and just change the end of the file name to .qcp - very easy)

I like to charge my phone every night, even if I lose 1 bar. Should I not be doing this and should I wait until the battery is low. And does it ruin the battery if I unplug it before it is fully recharged? I don't want to screw up the battery on this 8100. Thanks.

Can you put ringtones on your phone by sending a pix message to it? Or does it allow you to transfer ringtones off of the SD Card onto the phone?

I'm looking at getting this phone, the E815 or upping to the Samsung i730. I just want to be able to send ringtones to my phone and be able to customize them to my contacts...

Please tell me the moto e895 is not going to be a verizon phone. If this phone is half as sweet as it looks and comes out Q4 2005 then I just blew $450 on this e815 and vx8100 because I will have to get the e895. (pardon the run-on sentence...I was excited)

Ok, So I've read through this forum a little bit and felt the general consensus for this phone was good. Now I also read about the feature which verizon, typically, disabled or "crippled". I ordered my phone so I have received it yet or seen first hand these issues. So here goes my questioning:

1)What does "crippled" Bluetooth mean? And is there a way to hack that to un-'cripple' it?

2) I understand the buttons on the front of the phone don't work either and when I asked the Verizon sales rep about it, he seemed clueless, is there a way to hack that as well?

3)I have also read that the speaker phone isn't the best, and same with the dual channel speaker output(likely rooting from the same problem), is this true and if so is there ...

does anyone know if bitpim will work via bluetooth on this phone?? If so, please help.

Can anyone please help me find software for my new LG VX8100? I just got it last night and cannot get my bitpim software to work with it. I also noticed that bitpim does not support it yet according to their webpage.

I want to transfer some wallpaper and phone book entries that I have saved from my old LG VX8000 phone.

Plus, does anyone know how to get the phone to work as a modem?
