LG VX-8100

A couple of weeks ago, I was dead set on getting this phone. Then I saw that Samsung was coming out with a new camcorder style phone that had a 2.0 MP camera with optical zoom. Now, I'm debating on whether I should wait on the Samsung phone. Does anyone have any experience with Samsung phones? If so, how do Samsung phones compare to LG phones?

When this phone is released, will the full VZW store locations be able to handle moving my contact info from my VX4400 to the VX8100?

BTW, yes, I have bitpim and can backup the info - but that wasn't my question.

For crying out loud....Why do I ant this phone?

I'm certainly not a "phone nerd" (sorry, no offense intended)....meaning, I don't need a bunch of features I'll never use or understand.

I pretty much could care less about the removable storage feature, the evdo stuff (why would anyone need that?), really don't need the camera, will likely never ever listen to mp3's on my phone.

Other than all the hype generated here, I have no idea why I should even be considering this phone. I just really like LG phones, really want a good speakerphone (love the 4650) and like the thought of a wireless headset...with vibrate nonetheless! But hell....I don't even know how well the BT headsets work?

I've heard the motorolla e815 is due to come out in the next few days. Any reason I should wait for the lg 8100?

hey guys, some main questions I have about this phone is the battery life and if it will last as long as it states on the info spread? Also, will the speaker be loud? Can it be used with the flip closed?? Also, it seems as if the description for the camera on this phone is the same as for the 8000. Will the quality be the same as the 8k? I hope not because the camera quality on the 8k is garbage. I know we can only know for sure when it comes out, but anyone have any inside info (not bullshit lies) or give some good assumptions? Can't wait to play with it as soon as it comes out.

Posted a few questions on the e815 forum. Lots of 'echo' complaints, some phonebook, some freezing. Glad I waited for the LG, although I hope I don't get as many dropped calls as my 6000 and better reception. 🤣 🤣 🤣

and I beleive him before any of you dorks!

I live in the Kansas City area. I just visited one of my local VZW stores. I asked for the Moto e815, since I read on that forum it was released yesterday. The rep informed me they wouldn't be able to sell that particular phone until Friday. I asked to see a demo, and all he could show me was a dummy phone, not a working model, although he told me they had 10 e815's in stock.

My curiosity aroused, because of the later release date, I asked about the 8100 and he said they were being told the 15th would be the release date for that. He believed they would have the dummy on the 8th.

I know numerous posts have been written confirming the 7/11 date, but after the info about the Moto, I'm kind of bummed that we are apparently getting a ...

Alright everyone For the longest time I been watching everyone trying to come up with a release date for this phone. For the most part you are right....at least the so call "agents".... I'm not saying you aren't I'm just saying...Which I understand there isn't a way for y'all to know I am but my word.............BUT.......................

for all other carriers July 5th

LG VX3300 : I can't give you a release date,but

Anyone know how well this phone will work with the HF 800 speakerphone? Can you answer calls just by pressing the HF800 button? or will you have to flip open the phone first? What about hanging it up?

So with this phone, what all would you be able to do with a bluetooth headset? I mean, will you be able operate virtually hands free (I realize you may have to at least touch the button on the headset)

With my 4650, which has the "drive mode" you can "voice-scroll" through different items (that's my term, not LG's). Will this phone have that.....or just regular voice dialing whereby you say the persons name?

Is there anyway to put music from your computer on this, or maybe personally created midi ring-tones? I've never had a phone like this, and am with Virgin Mobile now, which is cheap, but not up to date with the technology. Thanks a lot! 🙂

Does anyone know if the charger gives you any indication of when it is fully charged, like the desktop?

I'm now fighting with Verizon to replace my 8000 (going on my 3rd one) due to software issues on the Data side. I've gone into 3 Verizon stores in the area and not a single one of them has an 8000 in tech support replacement because Verizon's policy to replace the phone everytime yours glitches in a year with a REFURBISHED phone (not a brand new one out of the box). They also won't let you upgrade and pay the difference in price for another one.

I would recommend waiting and seeing what kind of issues this phone has before using your NE2 or early upgrade options.

Here is some useless info about the phone that i have read.

The travel charger and car charger will be the same as the LG: 3200, 3300, 4650, 4700, 7000, & 8000.

One thing I don't care about this phone is that the battery is like the 32, 33, 4650, 47, & 6100 phones. I preferred the batt. like the 7000 or 8000.

Also the thing with the SD card, you can't save ring tones from the phone, and from what i read you can't save a sound file to the card and use it as a ring tone.

So this new phone is supposed to be all that. But what is a new phone that doesn't have AIM? Do you know how many MORE people use AIM than yahoo messenger (or whatever is has), and MSN? ALOT.

Is it possible to download AIM onto this phone, or would you just have to do it the old fashion way, and log onto AIM MOBILE from aim.com, and receive text messages from people IM'ing you? Which, by the way, is what now, 10 cents up for 2? Hopefully you can download it. Correct me if I'm wrong
