LG VX-8100

does anyone know if the antenna on this phone extends? or is it a stub?

Call verizon Wireless and you can buy it over the phone.!!!!!!!! I just did for $199

And will officially launch on the east coast next Friday or Monday.
Unfortunately the West Coast wont see it until the end of the month.
So I'm screwed.
And if you don't believe me call Verizon and ask a rep. If they say they are not sure, ask them to ask the supervisor.(I didn't have to ask him too, he was just trying to help me out with my NE2)
I only inquired because I was upgrading my plan and was afraid I would loose my NE2.
But I won't and I'll have to wait until the end of the month to get this phone. That Sucks.

The VX8100 is now on the Internal Verizon Wireless Site. It does not state a release date as of yet but any phone that has been put on here normally comes out within a few weeks at most. If you dont belive me you can reference my previous posts on other release dates for other phones and they have always been 100% correct. Once they post a date on the site I will post it on here. Also we have had the rebate for this phone for a few weeks already.

Does anyone know how much this phone is going for?

For all of those people who say it doesnt show a release date heres how to find it. Go to info manager/center depending on your employer and go to equitment guide. You'll notice the 8100 is labeled coming soon. Click on it. Then click on guides/menu link. This will bring up a page stating price, UPC, release date the works. Have fun

I called Verizon Wireless today to check if I was eligible for the NE2 (not because I did not sign a 2-year contract). BUT she did say I was eligible for a phone upgrade--and that would mean a discount. Does anyone know what kind of discount that is?

I just bought a 8000 and it's a nice phone but it very large and the speakerphone sucks because if your in a car or if there is any noise you can't hear it. I like Nextel for speakerphones. Another thing is that the volume for the earpiece sucks.

Will the 8100 improve on any of the above or will it be the same?

Alright, so the release date is the 11th, woo hoo. But will they make enough? Do you think that this phone will be SO popular that they will sell out? I want to wait for some reviews, but should I? I see that 2 of their phones are sold out on their site, do you think the VX8100 will be too?

I dont know if anyone noticed but on VZW website to VX-8000 is out of stock today....

Can I access my email account using the new EVDO service or do I have to go thru the extra slow Mobile Web service as I presently have to on my v710?

If I can use the EVDO service for this, can I access pop3 and MSN accounts?

now that the release date seems ever so closer, i have a pending question on one of the main features that have lured me to this phone. will the 512MB internal memory hold and play transferred music files from the PC? if so, what type of files: mp3, wma, etc. since the MOD is not going to be a factor for most part of this year, this should be a capability that should be flawless.
