BitPim and MAC

Help, please!! Someone using this on a mac. I downloaded the mac version. Once I connect the data cable, what then? I am not knowledgeable to any of this. Would appreciate some help to set this up. The 8100 doesn't show up. Also downloaded the unofficial version of 0.7.35 for 8100, dropped the file into pref folder, but nothing. I know there is a Mac version of DataPilot but hate to spend $50. Thanx. 😡 😡

DataPilot now supports VX8100

Susteen's Data Pilot supports the 8100. Version 3.12.0

Edit import/export address book

upload/download ringtones (so much easier than BITPIM file system!)

Download flix and pix (upload not supported yet)

Just thought I'd give the heads up!

Update Is Approved but not released

I just talked to tech support and they said that yes the update has been approved but that they won't be able to get it out to the stores for another 1-2 weeks. He said if it goes smoothly I could expect it in the next week but that it could take up to two weeks.

Are you kidding me?

Whats the deal with the user ratings for the phones on this site. For example I was looking at the e815 and the 8100 and it is amazing how many 0's there are for these phones. Come on people lets grow up. You want to be a fanboy(or girl) thats fine but lets give a fair representaton of the phones or just dont respond. We all know that there is know way on earth that either of these phones deserve a 0. Wow I feel like Andy Rooney 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

If/when update becomes available.....what then?

Everyone has seen the Mp3 playing 8100 video, and there have been numerous scattered posts about the update coming, but I have a question: once our 8100s can play Mp3s, how do we add them to the phone? I've heard of the Music on Demand, but will we be able to use the blue tooth to transfer the files? Will we have to use the SD card?

Email from Verizon Rep about the MP3 functionality

Question regarding the 8100

I was wondering if this phone supports call waiting, three-way calling, and call forwarding. I have not been able to find anything saying that I does not support it, on the other hand, I have not found anything stating that it does support these features. I have checked the users manual and found that to be of no help. Another thing, in the tools menu under voice commands there is an option for announce alerts. What is this used for, does this have to do with alerts set in calendar?
Any help or ideas would be useful
Thanx

Access Pre-Installed Ring Tones on 8100

I'd like to access the pre-installed ringtones so that I can mod one. I'd like to download Ringtone5 to my computer so I can insert some silence into the beginning for a Vibe-then-ring option. I know how to put new ringtones on the phone using BT and Bitpim; I just don't know where the pre-installed ringers are stored in the filesystem. Any ideas?

Alternatively, does anyone know where I can get a good mp3 ringer that sounds like a real telephone ring (similar to Ringtone5). Free would be nice, but I'd be willing to pay a couple of dollars too.

Just a thought

I've seen the video of the 8100 phone playing mp3's using the front buttons. I was wondering, is There any chance that person can copy the phone's files using qpst or bitpim and upload them onto our phones? It might work.

Mp3 player headphones

does anyone know if you will be able to use some sort of headphones on the lg-8100 mp3 player. the small hole on the side of the phone is too small for any headphones i have.

are there special headphones that you can buy that fit that hole or do you think you will only be able to listen through the speakers?

Games on the 8100

I downloaded a few games using GIN on my 8100. When I used BitPim I found a bunch of files that had names that were related to that game(example: I downloaded Need For Speed and saw a bunch of files called Needforspeedsounds and stuff like that). So here's my question, if I save those files and give them to someone else will they then have that game? If anyone is interested in trying this let me know, or if you have already tried this let me know.

Coverplate Color

Does anyone know if you could change the coverplate of the 8100. I'm tired of the dark blue cover. I asked the vzw rep. when i bought the phone and she said you could buy a coverplate at one of those cell phone accessory stands usually found in a mall. Anyone got some info. on this?
