Camera Delay

I was at the verizon store, and I talked to the technician. He said that that is how the phone is. He also said that the higher the resolution picture you take, the longer the delay, i.e. the lowest resolution delay is a little shorter. There is a delay nonetheless. The technician said that it's going to take a software upgrade to fix the problem. Hope this helps.

Pictures flipped

When taking a picture with the phone closed, the image appears on the front screen as a miror image, and is saved this way. When taking it with the phone open, it is still a mirror image on the front screen, but a true image on the main screen. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix this?

RE: Volume Problems

I know this sounds like too simple of a solution, but I wonder if some of the volume problems people are having are just do to the phone moving on your ear. Some cell phones I have had, you could have it almost anywhere on your ear and could hear fine, and others had to be right on your ear. Youhave to have it placed on your ear right at the speaker and if you move it up or down a little it causes it to sound lower, which is not a phone problem, it's a placement problem. I'm not discrediting any of you who have this problem, but I am not, but noticed if I move it up to far on my ear it gets quieter and also notice that it IS placement, NOT phone because when I move it back down to where it should be it's fine. Again, I know this sounds to...

HELP-Ringtones Not Appearing (I deleted the my_ringtone.dat and myringtone_size.dat files too!)

Hey everyone - I'm new to the board but have been following the posts for a while now.

I recently got my data cable in the mail and was trying to use it to upload ringtones through QPST. I set everything up and it was working fine...I followed the instructions as on HoFo, and I deleted the my_ringtone.dat file and the my_ringtonesize.dat file before uploading my ringer...I followed all the instructions and reset the phone but when I go into ringtones it is still not there no matter what I do! The renamed the extension to .mid and it was one of the clips from the walmart site so the size or filename couldn't be the problem...

the only thing I am wondering about is for some reason...when I deleted the 2 .dat files in the qpst...my phon...

QPST and BitPim com errors

I''m using a laptop and trying to get QPST and BitPim to connect to the phone but they both give me errors. QPST tells me that port may not be working properly or may be busy. BitPim says no phone detected/recognized. I am able to use Quicklink Mobile Phonebook which came with the Verizon Mobile kit with no problems at all. Any ideas out there to set me straight?
I'm using com port 18 so could it be that only the Quicklink program recognizes com ports that high and the others don't? I don't have the option to set the phone to a lower com port to try this theory out though ☹️

Scalia 500

Tried the Jabra 250. After 2 or 3 days the voice recognition couldn't find anything. Replaced it twice to the same thing. Phone checked out OK. Would really like to try the Scala 500 but have read mixed opinions. A couple of questions: Any further updates on the heaadset? Sound/volume - voice recognition? Do you have to set up separate voice tags, or just 'call someone or digit dial'. The manual wasn't very clear. Where was it ordered from. I've seen it from $39-$89. My other choice was the Logitech Freedem. Any feedback on this? Presently usinng the Moto 850, but not craazy about it. Low volume - several seconds to connect to in-coming call. Thanks.

I'M GOING TO KOREA NEXT WEEK...

I'm going to a friend's wedding near Seoul, and while I'm in LG-land, maybe I can find out what's really happening. I know the Korean market has a lot of different phones that we don't have, but they do use CDMA. Maybe I'll see something new!! 😁

Also, you can use your USA phone there for a mere 69¢ per minute, plus a surcharge to the Korean carrier (I don't know how much that is, though.)

THIS or LG VX-8000

Hello all...

I'm new to these forums but not to this site. I come here quite often for info and help, but now I've come to a point where I really some opinions here.

I am currently with Cingular... formerly AT&T Wireless and I HAVE to get a new cell phone (as told by Cingular reps for reasons which would lead to a LONG story) cause my current phone isn't compatible with Cingular's network.

The phone I have now is a Samsung E-316.

Anyway...

I have been to Verizon's stores and sites and various others like this and I believe I've found the phone(s) I want. I need help on deciding which to get -- 8100 or 8000 -- and I've looked at all the reviews on each and at first I was going to settle on the 8100 but now I'm stuck between th...

mp3 front screen buttons

I know this has probably been answered, the problem is that there are so many damn threads about mp'3 you can not sort through all the crap and get what you are looking for. I know multiple ways to get mp'3 on the phone and set them as ringers or play them. My question is if anyone has been able to get them into their tunes folder so they can play them on the outside of the phone while it is closed as a playlist. so in other words get the hidden mp3 player to work.

simple way to insert email in contact list?

I have inserted one email address and disliked the process since it seems that I need to switch back and forth between mixed letters, numbers and symbols. Is there any easier way to do it without the computer?

Free WAP

Does anyone know of any free WAP services out there. The 8100 will allow you to change your WAP settings, so you don't have to use verizon mobile web. You have to change it in the servcie section of the phone. Let me know.

Thanks. 😁

512 mb MEMORY? WHERE'D IT ALL GO!

so, you get 512 mb memory, but you can onlu y use 32 mb? is this correct? what about the rest of the 512? and if you do get a miniSD card, can you use that for MP3's?

i heard that you get your own MP3 on your computer, shorten it to 10 seconds, e-mail your fone, and boom, your own MP3. is this correct?

can you use a cord from your computer to your phone?
