Phone wont turn on
Hi,
I just got this phone recently and whenever I put the phone down and it shuts off or the standby or whatever that is, i cannot get the phone to turn back on unless i do a hard reset or take the battery out and put it back in. I dont know if anyone else has had this problem but if anyone has any idea why it is doing that and how to fix it, that would be great. Thanks

umm...on the left hand side of the phone there is a little button that slides up and down...phone just goes into standby to save battery. if you slide the button down it will turn the backlight back on...try it and let me know..I've never had a problem

Yea I knew about that. When the phone turns off by itself to save battery or when I turn it off manually I still cannot turn it back on with the slide button.

I think I've heard that this is a common problem with the i730. With mine, I also have the switch on the LOCK position and when I slide the screen up it unlocks and that's how I use it. I guess you could try doing that to see if it makes a difference, but if not, take it to a VZW store with a tech center and see if they can fix it for you, or give you an FRU.

that sucks man...I havent had any of those problems. My phone will freeze every once in a while if i switch from locked to turn the backlight on...but nothing like that.

I hate it when I have a low battery the backlight doesn't turn on. Anyway to change that, jtc?

I'm not sure to be honest with you. I haven't had that problem. Even when I get a low battey alert my backlight still turns on?

I get Main BatteryLlow after it goes past the halfway mark, then a Main Battery Very Low warning and that's when the backlight goes off.

Oh...hmm I can see main battery very low causing the backlight to stay off to preserve battery. It's probably just enough battery to shut it off and replace it or charge it. I dont let my batter get that low. I always have a batter charged or within distance of being able to charge it. Sounds normal to me
