Hey everyone I have a i730 on order and am expecting to receive it on july 5th, right now I have a 6600 and I'm not too thrilled with the 6600's size as well as its poor rf performance at least here in chicago. I've heard the i730 has much better rf as well as it is smaller than the 6600, my question is my 6600 maintains a constant connection allowing any e-mails that I get to be pushed through to my 6600 fairly quickly, does the i730 work the same way? In that it maintains a constant connection? thanks everyone in advance for any help on this matter!

hey there maverick96, I have my 730 set up to connect with my email server ever 3 minutes. You can select about any time interval you'd like. The phone is not constantly connected though. -You could have a continuous connection through wifi, but you can not make or receive calls while using wifi.

Well I am in the chicago area with the I730. I noticed that the evdo will go from active to dormant. But that doesnt mean that it is off. I use the aim client on it and even when it is dormant if someone sends me an instant message it becomes active again. OH btw the battery life is amazing. I was at work and was using the evdo for 8 hours straight on the standard battery and it lasted wonderfully. Also I noticed that with mine it seems that it can decrease the radio power when not in use but keep it just enough to maintain the connection. Then when you need it for a call or like the evdo goes active it boosts the power. I have watched the cell strength do this all the time. I use it and it jumps to full.
