Is Motorola an American Product?

If anyone can let me know. I read yes, no, maybe. The reason: I just called Customer Service for Motorola to ask about this phone's release. I got this guy with a heavy accent. He is telling me that he has no information about the release date and actually never heard of this phone. I asked him why he hasn't heard about it. He said because only the phones that are sold "HERE" in America are listed in his system. Any other phones, I have to go to their website. I asked him where was he, since they can only sell the phones available "HERE" in America. He is in Argentina. So Moto's CS is in South America, not "HERE" in North America. Not that I am naive, I know most corp.s are doing the cheapo outsourcing to $10 a day wages. It still amazes me. Bellsouth CS is in India, and so on, so on. Anyway, just venting again I guess. I think I will buy this unlocked and forget the 2 year contract. I just cant wait to get my American phone, with parts from China, assembled in Vietnam, programmed in India, supported through Argentina and activated in Turkey. 😛
