Nokia 6682 / 6681
Phone "freaking out"
I am starting to have doubts about this phone.
Where I did not have the problem the first nine days, I too know lose my call logs. What other quirks may this phone develop over time.
If anyone has any thoughts or input, I would be interested in hearing.
I have had these issues:
bluetooth useage via my laptop has:
- locked up the phone
- cause the phone to shut off w/o notice
call logs have disappeared after power off/on
- you think this is not a problem? Try getting a call at the airport, getting on a plane, landing and then trying to call that person back from your call logs
phone keeps asking me to sync with sim contacts at random times - even if i say yes or no - it keeps asking me and i am fed up with it.
bleutooth does not work with my 2004 Acura TL properly. I called Nokia and the acknowledged the problem and are investigating bluetooth issues.
Talked to a cingular rep last night to return my phone...

I love this phone, but this phone is not ready for prime time.
The cigular rep expects a recall of this phone to be made soon - hopefully to roll out a new firmware.
I agree, I do love the phone. When it works. I have had it 10 days now and no problems, until yesterday. I do hope there is a recall soon WITH a fix. Rather annoying though having to return and wait for it to come back. Also, my old 6620 is locked to AT&T so I would be without a phone. I would have them at least send me a free phone first. I probably should look to get my 6620 unlocked.
Thanks for your feedback, wild
Well they need to fix it!
How long have you had yours ?
Just wait...
Problems are not just related to BT or sync.
Anyway, I hope your phone does not develop any issues.
Unfortunately, I have 2 of these phones and we've had a painful experience to say the least.
Phone signal full bars to no bars in the same location. Must Reboot to get a signal an make a call-and that always doesn't work.
Phone powers off with no interaction.
Call logs erased.
Prompts to copy contacts to SIM card.
No bluetooth pairing with Acura TL!!
Multimedia messaging problems.
Spent half the week on support with Cingular - they have no clue.
Phone is in BETA.
anyway - i was relaying what I was TOLD by a cingular rep and hinted at by a nokia Tech Support guy.
There are problems with this phone, you might have purchased a high end phone and only use the basic features, but those of us who actually buy a bluetooth enabled phone to use that feature would like it to work!!
maybe you could have saved some money and got a lower end phone w/o bluetooth?
anyway --
I hope they fix it, i love this phone - just can't use it in the current state it's in - firmware needs updating and the bugs need to be fix/addressed.
Later.
Last night I plugged in my phone to charge, but left it on to maintain my call logs. This morning the screen showed the original initialization form which asks for home city, time, etc. As I proceeded I found that the phone had lost the time.
Very disappointing...
Is your position we should all settle for phones that are unreliable and buggy?
