Nokia 6682 / 6681

For me it was between those two phones as well. What was the deciding factor for me was the better camera on the 6682. You probably can't go wrong with the 5600 either...Symbian is great on the 6682...I'm guessing you can get some really cool apps on Windows mobile too(5600). I've heard it's pretty much a toss-up between the two phones. I love my 6682 but it was a tough decision.

How about the difference in memory (64MB on the SMT 5600 to 8MB on the 6682)?

The HTC 2125 is going to come out soon and it'll have the same feature set as the 6682 (1MP camera, EDGE, improved resolution) so I'm wondering if the memory should be a significant factor in my decision making process.

Memory is expandable on both so why would it be an issue?

The only reason I could see choosing either the current or updated 5600 is a strong man love for Bill Gates and his Windows empire.

Seriously, if a small form factor is important and you like Windows for mobile(I don't), then you should choose the 5600.

I have used a 5600 and where it did everything it was supposed to and was easy enough to navigate w/out owmers manual intervention, I just don't like WM 2003 interface. I tend to prefer a more phone-like feel.

The 5600 is a solid unit, I'm sure you'll be happy if you choose it.

If not and you shop at your local Cingular company store, you can bring it back with-in 30days and exchange for another device.

I researched phones for weeks- and I just could not get a phone that wasn't a Nokia. I love my 6682-it comes with a 64 mb card(where are you getting 8mb?). I simply could not find a phone that had the same amount of features, and I couldn't be happier with it. I was kinda scared about some of the negative comments it received on this site-but the only issue I've had is if I open the mmc slot on the side I loose my wallpaper choice. Really not an issue cause it takes two seconds to change back. But I truly love my Nokia 6682-Plus no one else around here has it. I tried the 6230- and the buttons were a real pain in the ass-I have really tiny hands and I couldn't stand it- but the 6682 is really easy to navigate.

yes i love my nokia also..i wouldnt get the audiovox...queenplato they were refering to the built in memory

I currently own a SideKick so size isn't an issue.

I asked about the BUILT IN MEMORY because I worried about not being able to have multiple applications opened at the same time and slow menu broswing speed. I don't want a sluggish phone.

The SideKick isn't sluggish (I can change applications in the blink of an eye) and I've never had to worry about doing too many things at once (e-mail, IM, web).

Once again, I don't believe that the BUILT IN MEORY makes a hoot of a difference. I store applications on my card and they run fine.

That' why I don't think it matters what the BUILT IN MEMORY is.
