Brick Cingular Phone
Well, I'm on my third cingular edition of this phone in three months due to it locking up and not recognizing the SIM card. The latest is starting to show signs it will do the same, like freezing and requiring a restart. I'm quite annoyed with this phone and ready to have cingular replace it with something else. Is there any sure fire way to "brick" this thing already, I've run out of patience.

Have you changed the SIM card yet? Have you tried using that SIM in other phones? It's not unknown for the SIM to be the cause of such problems.
The freezing & restarting issue shouldn't be tied to the SIM issue at all (the phone can operate offline); what programs are you running? What happens when it freezes? When I try to do too much with mine (run OperaMini, Music player, and image viewer at the same time, for example), it will glitch & freeze.

i went thru 6 of these thru warrenty exchange,same issues you're hving, they replaced my sim card but like japhy said, this will do nothing for the lock ups and freezing...att finally give me a pearl 😢 😢 on my 6th of them too, seems like they dont fix them b4 sending them...good luck
