Nokia 6101 / 6102
Cingular WILL NOT be carrying the 6102
It's offical - I just hear this from my district manager. Cingular will not be carrying the 6102 due to QA issues. There are no plans to carry this phone in the future.

I'm actually very happy to say that you're wrong! I've already seen 2 national televised commercials promoting the 6102 for cingular as a back to school phone. Also found out from a cingular employee that the phone has been pushed back to the end of October! Most of the cingular stores in my area already have posters of the phone hanging up promoting it! Stay cool and remember patience is a virtue. This phone will definitely be worth the wait!

same here in my area posters are in all of our stores. and one store says they have ordered it but won't know if it will come with the full order this time or not, but they did order it.

I just went to my local store (im in pittsburgh) and the guy said they should have them next week 😁 so hopefully thats true....i know for a fact cingular will be selling this phone tho!

We've got posters and demo phones at our store as well, but I just talked to my district manager again and he confirmed that we've put a stop order out for that phone. Take from it what you will, I guess.

I was at my Cingular store 1 hour ago. They had just received their dummy 6102 phone today. It was very nice. They expect their phones any day.
I also called Cingular customer service within the hour and they said they should be out before Oct 1 in most stores.

well Im not sure where you are located but in alabama they told me that they are getting them and they are ordered, but due to the huricane it slowed things on delivery, which it also says that on their official website about the delays on all of our phones coming in our area, but all 4 of our stores that I called said we were getting them. which I hope they are right. but who knows it has been delayed for so long now, so you could be right.

Cingular is definately getting the Nokia 6102. I just called 5 different Cingular stores and they all said that the Nokia 6102 will be out by the end of the month. Sry but they didn't give me a definate date.

called my local store, they had 1 for sale for 200.00 without a contract but i cant get there before work so im going tommorow. my store down the street said next week they will be selling them

I just stopped at my cingular and their price without a contract is 189...they have a working model on display but wont be selling the phone for a few days though

DM was in our store today and I asked him a third time... turns out that he had his phones mixed up. We will be getting it, its a different 6000 series phone that is getting the axe.

Just a reminder to not take all of the information on here as actual & factual. Read opinions/comments carefully and trust your good judgement. The best way to know something is just to wait it out....see if the phone eventually ends up in a cingular store, keep checking on it. From my personal experience, cingular reps themselves(no fault of there on, the go off of what there told) have no clue of upcoming handsets. I called cingular the other day for instance to check the status of PTT rollout...the rep did not even know what PTT was....i said "Should you know what push to talk service is" her response was, "excuse you, dont' tell me what I need to know" and she hung up on me.
