I had my phone for a week. I am really happy with this purchase. I had many phones and I am the most happy with one.

If anyone is interested in a good converter to convert your movies, videos, film clips - I would like to suggest trying the ImTOO 3g2 converter. I feel you get better results from this program then the Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0. I have tried both.

Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0 is a free program found:

ImTOO 3g2 Converter is not a free program (cost $29.00):

Just use the phones "Standalone" setting. Thats what I do with the 8100 when I am in a bad signal area and I am watching TV Shows or Movies on mine. Does the same when playing MP3's too.

Of course only do this if you are DEFINITELY in a no signal area and you can afford to miss a call or txt msg.

This is good to know. Thanks for the info. I will try it. When I play mp3s I don't have a problem. I guess it would be helpful to use this feature to conserve battery. I will give it a try next time.

I tried this program and frankly I didn't like it. The audio doesn't sync up properly. The encodeing is way too slow. The video doesn't match the output frame rates. 😕

I understand your grief. I too had the same problems. In order to fix the syncing you must play around with the settings. Also make sure that you set the "same_quality" section to "True". This setting will converted video to match original file.

As for syncing the sound you have to adjust the frame rate. try typing in a higher number than 15 try 50 or 60 and see if the vocals sync.

Heres another option. I found that avi files convert better than mpegs, mpg. Try converting the file to avi with the frame rate set at 60. See if the vocals sync and then convert to 3g2.

I will continue to look for more setting to help fix the vocal sync problem.
