Posted in another forum....

A test version of bitpim 0.8.01 is available with full vx9800 support, including phone detection , ringtones, wallpaper, calendar, phonebook, SMS download and call history. Thanks to all the testers for helping with getting it working.

This is a windows only version, mac and linux will be available in the next official bitpim release.
Phone detection on bluetooth will only work on XP SP2 if you are using the native windows drivers.

I got it to install but unless you are running with WINDOWS ONLY BT drivers -- in other words you did not have to install drivers for your BlueTooth card/dongle/etc. it wont work...doesn't work for me, lets hope they work it out soon.

...but this doesn't mean that people shouldn't try it...I used the second link and it download the file and installed without trouble --- you MUST be using WIN XP SP2 and have ONLY native BT drivers.

This worked for everything except wallpaper (pics) and contact list. I didn't use BT, I used USB cable (orig for 8100, works for 9800).

I was about to dump the earlier version for a clean install, then decided not to in case it was just an upgrade. Full virus protection still running and install was quick and easy. Got all my numbers, calender, wallpapers etc...

I did not have the pop up stopper running, for the other person having problems.
