I tried the new bitpim release 0.8.01. It now has the 9800 listed and can do most of the things it was made out to do. (bluetooth users dont need to use the "detect phone")

I don't have the cable, but what I read from others that use this new update, you can use the 8100 cable. You need a card reader in order to put the mp3's on your card. You can not transfer via phone cable. The cable is for transferring form bitpim to phone.

Thanks Sava2k
This worked for me.
I'm not sure if it worked directly because the numbering system you have provided had me a bit confussed but i stuck with each of the comments and tried it again and again finnaly it put the ringers on my phone. I believe i was maybe not doing it correctly somehow. It did work, so thank you for sharing.

The numbering system was created by the great minds of bitpim.org. I am glad you are able to enjoy your customized ringtones.
