OEM USB cable vs. non-OEM USB

Hey guys, I got my 9800 about 3 weeks ago. I'm ready to get a cable from eBay. I used to have a USB cable w/my 4400. Worked well w/BitPim. I'm not getting the bluetooth adapter since I want to use this cable w/multiple phones. Question is, do you guys recommend buying non-OEM cables from eBay? I can't remember whether or not my old one is OEM or not (probably isn't OEM though), but I haven't had any problems w/it or the phone. I'm just asking because some guy selling an OEM cable is saying that his cable version is newer, and the older ones had a problem w/the built in charger which overcharged and even ruined some phones.. I'm not ready to ruin my new $200 phone.. soo.. I just want to make sure. For the others that have bought USB data cabl...

I'm using a NON-OEM [Ebay'd] USB cable for my 9800 and it's working great!!

Thanks for the response, I think that is good enough for me. Anybody else have their thoughts? I'll probably order tonight though. Thanks.
