2 issues with exterior screen

1) The screen on the outside of the phone seems to shut off after a few minutes. Is there any way to keep this screen on. Instead I have to wake the screen up (press a key) to see if there's any voicemails or messages, instead of simply looking at the screen like most other phones.

2)Related to number 1. I always keep the keyguard on. So when hitting a key to wake screen, I get the message about hitting OK twice to remove keyguard. This message covers the screen for about 5 secs, (completely covering the info I was trying to see). Any way to remove this message or at least shorten the time it stays onscreen?

Any ideas you guys might have would be most appreciated.

1) there is no way to keep the screen on as the full color screen will drain the battery. you can set the front screen to stay backlit for up to 30 sec. (from main 'inside screen') MENU > SETTING&TOOLS > DISPLAY > BACKLIGHT > FRONT SCREEN.

You can however, turn the keyguard off so you dont have to look at it, or you can set the keyguard to only come on after 2 min of idel
(from front 'outside screen' MENU > SETTINGS & TOOLS > KEYGUARD TIMER.

Or even another approach is to set alerts that will beep after a couple min if u have a message/ voicemail until u look at it.
(from main 'inside screen' MENU > SETTINGS & TOOLS > SOUNDS > ALERT SOUNDS > then click on anyone and then click on reminder and set it . this will give u a beep until ...

If you hit the volume buttons on the side (while in lock mode), rather than a key on the front pad, the message about hitting ok doesn't pop up. The front screen lights up and thats it.

bpgpitt: Thank you, Thank you, that works perfectly. Also from another posting you had mentioned that you get messages to just appear on the screen. Please tell me how. Thanks again.
