no volume when answering phone

Hi,

Has anyone experienced this: For incoming calls, when I answer without using speakerphone, the volume is extremely low and increasing the volume using the side arrows does not work. The only way to fix the problem is after answering a call, I have to open the flip to turn on speakerphone and then close it again. Then the volume becomes fine. Anyone have any idea what is going on? Should I just exchange w. warranty?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I dont have this problem but It sounds like a bug. If you have the insurance then you should exchange it for a new one.

You don't need to do an insurance replacement. That will cost you a $50 deductible. If it is a defect, take it back to Verizon and have it switched out for free. You'll get a FRU, but at least it will work.

I have the exact same problem with my 9800... it only happens like 1 out of 10 calls or so, it's just really annoying most of the time.
