Hi gurus,
I am looking for a high quality speaker phone that can text, take picture, light browsing (find restaurant, get direction, movie times, etc), and listening to music. I am seriously considering getting this phone, but am a little confused after reading the reviews. Please help:
1. Camera picture quality.
I need a phone with a reasonable camera that I can take casual pictures of people and put on websites. The resolution of this phone seems perfect and the flash is unique. However, I see that people complaining about the pictures always dark, etc. Is it really that bad?

2. Camera picture downloading.
can I easily download pictures to my computer to edit without paying VZ for every picture?

3. Music from my own CD

😁 I will answer all your questions, hopefully..others here have great input, so here them out as well! 🙂

1. The Camera is GREAT. but as people said, in a dimmed room, the camera does not have an all amazing brightness function. you can tune the brightness up all the way, but it was only help a little. The same goes with the flash. the flash will only help a little. NOt much, but some. But in broad daylight or a room with lots of light, my god the phones camera is utterly amazingly sharp and large. the 1.3 Megapix cam is 1280x960 resolution. that is very nice. So besides the fact that it doesn't take pictures well in dark areas, its great. but then again which camera phone doesn't take bad pictures at night? -_-

2. I am not sure...

Milkmandan did a good job with most of these so I'll only offer my thoughts on a few of them....

2. I believe you can easily set the camera to use the miniSD card as the storage media for your Pix -- from there it should be easy to snatch them off the card with a standard card reader.

4. This phone has a stand alone feature which is designed to shut off the telecommunications portion of the phone allowing it to be used as a MP3 player (or stored video viewer) in a stand alone mode. Such usage is directed at the flight rules regarding phones and whatnot -- there is a caveat however, a few airlines I've encountered do not understand "stand alone" functionality and still require you to turn the phone off. As time goes on more and more...

2. Yes you can easily insert a miniSD card into your phone and transfer pictures/mp3's from your phone to your PC or vice versa through a card reader. I currently have a 512mb miniSD card and it works great!

Yes just as i remember, tip10 made a excellent post and even taught me something!

Set your camera to save the pictures to the MiniSD card, and with a simple miniSD card reader you can read it and write it from your card to PC.

But if you set your camera to save to phone, memory, you might have a problem ;).

Remember, 1GB miniSD card is the highest capacity card the LG vx9800 will support. the 2GB ones are not yet supported.

I 've had my vx9800 for 2 weeks now, and i am VERY impressed. NO complaints what so ever. Music plays, videos play, internet works, bidding on ebay, paying cellphone bill through the internet, i can feel my 100 dollars working for me ;)
