Losing Programs with Upgrade
The sadest part of upgrading is that you lose the programs that you purchased for you old phone. It would be nice if Verizion would credit you for the ones you repurchase.

maybe after upgrade, you can try redownloading your programs and they will be free then? cuz you already bought it?

They won't be free, but if you lose apps due to a software upgrade or swapping out a phone due to defects, you first have to re-purchase the exact same apps then call CS and they will credit your account. They will verify why you lost them and that you indeed downloaded the exact same ones you are getting credit for.

FROM EXPERIENCE I KNOW THAT SOMETIMES YOU CANNOT GET THE DOWNLOADS BACK. I HAD THE 8100 AND THAT HAPPENED TO ME, AND BY THAT TIME A LOT OF THE GAMES AND PROGRAMS I HAD WERE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. I WAS A VERY ANGRY VZW CUSTOMER, ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAD JUST DOWNLOADED THEM. YOU MAY ALSO NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS EVERYTHING. ON MY 8100 I COULD NOT ACCESS A LOT OF THE RINGER PROGRAMS INCLUDING THE ONES I HAD PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED B/C THEY WERE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. I NOW HAVE THE 9800 AND I AM WAITING UNTIL THEY FIX THE SITUATION WITH THE SOFTWARE UPGRADE.
