BITPIM PROBLEM W/ LG VX9800
Bitpim is not detecting my phone after eariler successful attempts.
I recently got my USB cable and mini sd and decided to try it out last night. Everything worked fine the first 2 attempts. I tried it once again this morning and it is unable to detect my phone.
My cable seems fine as the battery symbol on my phone is flashing, charging my phone via USB.
I tried resetting my phone. did not work.
I tried to reinstall Bitpim numerous times. Nothing.
Could it be my USB cable? Could it be my Computer(MAC) ? or im not doing something right?

Make sure you are using the SAME USB port that you had earlier successfull detection attempts.
i find that if i dont use the same port, its almost as if i need to reinstall all the drivers again ☹️
also try reinstalling the usb adaptor drivers, it might help :\

I tried on different computers, 2 Macs and 2 Window comps... still it wont read. Im starting to think that it could be my USB cable.
Each of the comps gives me a pop up sign telling me that the USB is either malfunctioned or undetected.
I installed all the drives for it yet still IT WONT DETECT my damn phone.
any other ideas? appreciate it by the way.

damn sounds liek a problem, especially if it worked before
anything bad happen to your cable recently? maybe someone stepped on it? or something?

What cable should i get instead? I purchased my current USB cable on EBAY... and it kind of seems generic.. cost less than 10 bucks but still.. i need quality.. so any suggestions?
Also... once you connect your phone via BITPIM does it write any coding or anything at all to the phone? im kind of desperate to find out why Bitpim, and my computer(s) is unable to read my phone. Worried that it might've messed w/ the phone.

dont worry nate101, if your phone is operating fine, then nothing is wrong with it.

Once your phone connects to bitpim, it doesn't write ANYTHING, it only reads. it will only write if you tell it to.
A suggestion i have for you is, go flash your phone to the latest version at a verizon store. Get V02 that might help. ...

I think i just figure out your problem Nate.
try this..
Go to Menu --> Settings & Tools --> PC Connection --> USB (confirm)

tried that... it didnt work...
i gotta pick up a new USB cable.. and if that doesnt work...
then whatever.. not going to spend 2 bucks for a ringtone, but i will miss the fact that i can simple transfer pictures and such to my computer.

you dont need bitpim to transfer stuff to your computer...if you have a miniSD card and a miniSD adaptor just save and transfer all your files to SD card and just pop the sd card in your computer to grab em. same thing vice versa. except for mp3 ringtones.. need USB cable for that.

Also i know this is a long shot, but try the other options in the PC Connection Menu. try them ALL, and if you can try A DIFFERENT computer, reinstall the drivers and everything. :\

I having the same problem. whats happening is the drivers (Sussteen) are getting lost or something. if you remove it and reload datapilot it will work fine for a day or two. i have no idea why the drivers don't stay loaded on the computer. i have been looking for other drivers but no success so far
