Are you able to text while the phone is closed and do most things? and how do u think the keypad is? whats your opinion? Is it worth retail price?

Yes you can text with the phone closed -- and do most things.
I'd rate quality of build very high -- its a solid feel and well built phone. Software is developing -- initial release had some reboot problems but they seem to have helped that issue with V2
