you bought a moto headset that works best with a moto phone, hoping it would also work great with the vx9800.
ehh i would suggest any headset by LG. Those should be the best and clearest. After all you bought a MOto headset for your motorola phone, why not do the same for the lg vx9800?

does LG make one .. ive never seen one .. I like the fact that with the Moto you can flip it open and answer a call but closed its on stand by and doesnt drain the batt that much
a head set is VERY importain to me and id be will ing to pay for something of good quality

I have the MOTO H500 headset and it works fine with my 9800. I did notice a slight problem the other day when I had my phone upstairs and went downstairs to chat on the phone and it started to get static but I was within the 30 foot range though. Other than that, I have had no problems at all.

The LG headset might not be a bad idea but here is the crazy thing. On the Verizon website in the accessories section, they list the MOTO headsets or at least the ones they think work best with the 9800. I don't have to many problems with mine other than occasional static that seems to go away after a while. I don't think the person on the other end notices the static. The other problem I am having is the headset going to standby mode by itself so when a call comes in, I am pressing the button to answer the call and it won't answer only to find out it shut itself off.

Hi -
I have the same phone and tried many different headsets. I agree with you, MOTO is NOT the way to go. I HIGHLY recommend the Plantronics Discovery 640. In my opinion it is by far the best performing, fitting and sounding. The fit and finish can't even be touched by the new Jabra JX10 retailing for almost twice the cost. The 640 retails for about $130 but I bought mine on eBay for $85 inc shipping. Compatibility with my 9800 is near flawless. It is a really cool design as well!

Hi, I suggest you grab the HBM 300 by LG. I got it free with the V (a 60 dollar value)and it works great - Crystal clear reception everywhere!

I bought the Moto700 and it was awful. Full of static and bad distance quality. I found a tip from a site that the Plantronics Voyager 510 was good, so I got one on eBay for $46! IT'S FANTASTIC! People thought I was on my corded headset because there was no static, it was clear and distance was great, even 20' from the phone. It's also pretty comfortable, with the little earbud (like an iPod) that fits into your ear and blocks out the ambient noise unlike the Motos which just sit on top of your ear. Wind noise is very minimal with the Plantronics anti-wind technology, people on the other end can't even tell I'm outside unless I'm in very strong wind. I love this BT headset! 😁
