Hi Nestor, 2GB support doesn't bode well according to "Fletch33" on Howard forums. (I wish I'd read his comments before ordering my 2GB mod.. 🤭 )

Fletch33 reports that the vx9800 cannot use anything larger than 1GB. "pArTy b0y!" on Mobiledia confirms 1GB max in his review too. Ironic that LG has *nothing* re: supported SD sizes on their sites. I'll let you know what I find when my 2GB mod arrives next week.

After having it only 3 days, I'm still much a noob with this phone, but here are some links to info I've found useful. (BitPim is soo cool!) Can anyone share a way to fully activate OBEX on the V?

Thank you so much for the info. I will try bitpim next now that i have the memory capacity for full lenght movies.

One question that i have about bitpim is that do i need the data cable for the V or can i just use a SD card reader on my computer, then stick it back into the V.

Also what is a 2gig mod and OBEX?

Hi Nestor, sorry for the lapse into geek speak. I mean to say I ordered a 2GB miniSD module.

OBject EXchange (OBEX) is among the more powerful Bluetooth/IR profiles purposely disabled on Verizon's phones. (at Verizon's request?)

I used Xilisoft's Video Converter to rip Howl's Moving Castle DVD to 3GPP2 (*.3p2) format on miniSD for my kids. I'd compare it to the "Barking Dogs Jingle Bells" we hear on the radio each Christmas. It's not that they bark it well, but that you can recognize it as Jingle Bells at all, that's really amazing! You wouldn't really want to watch anything for long at that resolution and frame rate..

My 15-day phone trial with my 9800 was more than half over Sunday. Given I also wasn't happy with our 2GB-SD dilem...

Thank you so much for the info mzterina. I too have a 2gig that i bought before checking out this site, and i think that LG sux for not printing any limitations on the capacity that the V can handle. Pls. let me know if you do get that 2 gig to work.

Also, would you guys know if I have to buy the data cable inorder to use bitpim, or can i just stick my memory card into the reader on my com. then stick it back into my V?

Thank you again for your response.

BitPim requires a data link to the phone itself (in Windoze, that's mapped using a COM port designation.) That can be via USB, BT, IR. USB might be the best for you.. 😁 try here for bargains?

But to get data like movies (FLIX), music (MP3) and Pics (PIX) into your V, you can just copy them to the SD card from your laptop. Put the card in your V phone first and access the various PIX, FLIX, menu options. You won't see any files, but the phone will create the default directory structures it needs on the card. Then remove the card from phone and mount in your laptop. You'll see from Win Explorer the various directories into which files need to be placed. Copy you stuff i...
