LG V VX-9800

Have spent a good amount of time reading some posts...about to embark on the purchase of this phone, but there are a lot of discrepancies out there...

1. I read that the wireless sync charge of $19.99 is a one time charge and not a monthly charge, true or false?

2. Email. One can retrive and respond to email (aol, hotmail, yahoo) via the Web 2.0, however, do emails count as text messages and charged per email if you don't have a text plan? (I know the $4.99 charge for Web 2.0 eats up your monthly minutes.)

3. AOL IM...charged as text messages, any way to turn it off?

4. Read that you can change the clock feature from digital to analog and also the size of the dial...on both the internal and external screens, true?

I have the v710 phone and i did the seem edit to be able to copy mp3's from my Tflash card to the phone since Verizon had blocked it. With this phone, i keep reading that you actually need to connect the phone with the usb cable and use a program to be able to copy songs from Card to phone. Is that true? Or is there a seem edit you can do to just copy from card to phone?? I read that How To at howardforums but its confusing.

Wont it minimize the ringer sound by A LOT??? SHould i get some bootleg case from ebay that doesnt enclose it like that??

I have a LG VX-9800 I just ordered via verizon's web site.

Just added the V-Pack now, and it's not working.

Get V-Cast video says "Unable to access V CAST Video. Please try again
later. 404

Mobile web says
"Network Unavailable. Retry Later."

Any hints? Is it a bad phone?

Anything it could be in the field programming? Data support just had
me make sure it said apps.myvzw.com and apps2.myvzw.com (I believe -
whatever I read him he said was correct).

Also, how do I change the Voicemail 'code' to include my password? ie
*86,,XXX instead of just *86?

is there a program that sinks with this phone that works with a mac?

I recently received the opportunity to exchange my Motorola V710 for this phone and I had some questions for owners out there.

1.) I heard that this phone drops calls alot? Can anyone verify this or explain?

2.) I heard the speaker is not loud enough? Again, can anyone verify?

Not a big fan of LG...too few included ringtones and limited ringtone volume. Still waiting for something with a similar design from another manufacturer. Any ideas?

My auction on ebay for my used 9800 which is in great condition ends in 25 minutes. Right now it's only going for 237.50. If you check it out you can get a great phone for an even greater price.

To play music on the phone do you put the music on the memory card or can u store it on the on board memory? The same question goes to pics,video?

at some point I read online that you can get the VX-9800 to voice announce who's calling...but I'm wondering what setting I would do that under...I haven't found it yet in my settings mode...

Any inside info on the next 3g or 3g+ LG phone will be coming to Verizon? CTIA is in April. Hopefully there will be some news during the show. Hopefully they will come out with one that doesnt have a limit on video capture times...other than memory capacity.

In case anybody is looking, I listed my used 9800 on ebay yesterday. The auction is up until Tuesday evening. The phone is in like new condition. The reason I'm selling is simply because it's too much phone for me, I am pretty active and it's just too big of a phone to carry with every where I go. I'm including the Verizon OEM car cord and all of the downloaded ringtones and games. It's a great deal if you are looking for a 9800 without a contract.

The only problem that there may be with the phone deals with the mini sd drive. This phone was originally purchased and returned by a mom who's 14 year old son couldn't get the mini sd function to work. They cut the upc off of the box for the mail in rebate but they returned it within ...

Well. Found out about a week ago that the 9800 has a feature that i really wanted and the 8100 does not. Unfortunately, iy is past the 15 day trial period. So, I just have to be happy with what I have and forget that the 9800 has what I wanted.

can anyone help me? Ive read a lot of threads and took the advice and tried formatting my card per the instructions. Now when i try to put mp3s on it, i get a msg that says write-protected? If i try to use computer to format it says same thing. I have windows xp and card reader in the tower. Am i missing something?

Does anyone know where ringback tones are placed in the phones directory?

i am looking to buy a minisd card on ebay so that i can play mp3's on my phone. Would i need a usb cable to transfer the music to my phone or the minisd comes with a usb of it's own?
