Hey I am a Cingular rep outta the Baltimore/DC Market. We got 2 of these phones in today as testers. And I must say, Nextel is done.
You cant just bleep someone right off the top, the other PTT user has to accept your invite in order to be able to talk to eachother. Once the invite is accepted, you will never have to ask to talk to them again. Good for you Nextel users who just interupt people and bleep and scream stupid **** lol.
The initial delay is around 3-4 seconds.
After the initial delay, there is absolutely no delay.
Converting PTT calls to regular phone calls is extremely easy, just the push of a button.
The PTT worked where I had no reception.
The speaker is as loud as Nextel.
Overall, as long as the sales people push the hell out of these phones, it should be a hit because its just as good as nextel, and we know they're phones suck.

To edit what I said earlier, the phones are in the stores, but only the demo phones. PTT does not officially release till 10/13 and these phones are for testing purposes and to show to potential customers. It is 9.99 extra a month for single lines and 19.99 a month for up to 5 lines for unlimited PTT.
